Sunday Drive

On Sunday we took a drive into the country, we had seen what we presumed was a lake on a map so we headed that way and towards a town called Ribesalbes.
After coming off the main roads we drove through a number of fruit farms and realised that these were all orange trees. This one looked a very impressive farm with its large gates and driveway.

We decided to come off the proper road a couple of times to test our 4x4 out by doing a bit of bundu bashing (off roading) But it was a bit precarious so we soon got back on the tarred road and continued safely on.

We eventually found the lake or as I know now it is a reservoir as we could see the dam wall at one point. It is known as Embalse (reservoir in Spanish) de Sitjar,

We found a nice area to pull off where there were picnic tables amongst the trees and had our lunch.
There were quite a few people around but it was still very pleasant  sitting in the cool under the trees.

We had a walk around and Rob found a quiet spot to play his bagpipes for a while.

We finally drove on for a while and eventually came to the town, Ribesalbes which was right at one end of the dam. There wasn't a great deal to see there except a large factory, probably a ceramics factory as there a lot of them around this district. So we passed through and continued around the dam and then back to Benicassim.
