Obterre
We have travelled around this area and I am amazed how interesting the villages and towns are, most of them have really old houses in amongst modern buildings. some of them look as if they are ready to fall down but they are being lived in and some streets look as if they have been the same for a maybe hundreds of years.
Below are some photos of Obterre the village where we are staying at the moment.
The other day we set off for Chatillon not far from here.
Unfortunately we had to stop for a while as there was a strange smell in the car, I had not looked where I had walked when I had got out of the car earlier.
We eventually arrived in Chatillon and it was very quiet, for some reason Mondays are always quiet in France, like an extension of the weekend. Anyway we had a good walk around following a signpost that said 'Touriste Circuit' that we came across every now and then and the following are some photos we took on our walk.

This nice looking farmhouse we saw on our way back to the campsite.
Obterre Church from just outside the village.
Another day we drove to a village over the river from Loches, known as Beaulieu Les Loches. We found a car park and sat in our car to have our usual picnic lunch of bread and cheese and sausage!! Something we have noticed here that Britain could take on board, there are no charges for parking your car and no time limit.
Again we walked around and here are some photos of some of the buildings that we saw.
Discovered this was a hotel
The Town Hall
Remains of an old building attached to a more modern building
We also had a walk along the river and into a park.
