Enjoying life around Le Cormier Campsite

We have been here at Le Cormier for just over a week now and we are enjoying just relaxing in our caravan or outside when the sun is shining or driving around the area. At the moment we have no plans to move on as we are really happy here and the owners of the site are really friendly. The whole time so far there has only been one other caravan on the site and an occasional couple staying in the studio apartments so it is very quiet and peaceful.
Three times a week a small van arrives at the site with bread and croissants which we have to buy of course. Rob often told me before we came to France how nice he found the bread when he came here a couple of years ago, so now I can say the same.

Typical lunch (without the croissants, they are for breakfast, of course) French bread, dried sausage and cheese which I love!!
There is also a butcher who comes around once a week with a very smart van and a very impressive array of fresh and cooked meats and pates. We really enjoyed his sausages which are very like the boerwors that we used to buy in South Africa. And yes we did braai (bbq) them!!!

We also love the sweet patisseries but we don't have them too often!!

Speaking of food we had a laugh a little while ago when deciding to have boiled eggs and then realising we didn't have any egg cups. So here is Rob's invention, pretty cool, amazing what coke cans can be used for!!!

The other day we had a drive around part of the Nature Reserve near here, there are loads of lakes or ponds which have all been man made and apparently full of fish and plenty of birds. We found one place which is obviously a wonderful place in the summer, with a camp site, peddle boats, picnic areas and cafe but as you can see when we went there was one major thing missing there was hardly any water!!! and we didn't see many birds either!! Maybe next time we venture out around that area we will find a lake with water and birds.

This was the Bistro which looked quite smart inside but wasn't open when we were there.

Just a couple of photos I took on our way home.

We had a really heavy downpour the other night it seemed to rain for hours but glad to say we didn't float away!! It's just a bit muddy all around the caravan now and Rob opened up the awning to dry us out a bit.

But I was still able to have my lunch in the sunshine!!!
