Exploring the Countryside

We had a drive out the other day, we thought it was about time we did a bit exploring and so went down the coast a bit to the next town,Castellon.

In the end we didn't stop here for long as once we drove out of the town we were in an industrial area and seemed to be moving away from the coast. So in the end we decided to go inland and towards the mountains where we were sure to get some lovely views.

Eventually we came to this small town perched on the hillside, Lucena

Along this part of the road are these lay-byes which are very handy for stopping in and taking in the view. A great idea on these narrow winding roads.

We stopped for a while in Lucena and just had a wander around.







Don't know who these horses belonged to but they were happy to be photographed.

Around this area there are a lot of Ceramic Factories and it was strange to see this one so far into the countryside. Apparently the ceramic tile industry has recently been hit by the economic crises so a lot of the factories have closed down.

We drove back to our site on a different road which was even more windy and narrow but once again we had some wonderful views.

We came across a few of these settlements along the way, some of the buildings were almost completely demolished and others looked as if they were being re-built.

I wonder who has lived here at some point.

Right in the distance is the sea
